I don't know about you guys, but I don't spend a lot of time on my songs much at all. I understand that with flash it would take a lot longer, on a count of all the programming and the art and whatnot.

How long does it take you guys? To be honest, I usually start a song one night, then the next day I finish it. I think it's because if I take too long, I'll get sick of writing it, and never finish it. I also tend to get on a roll.

If you listen to one of my songs, chances are that's how long it took me.

What do you think?

I'm just asking all the Flash artists on this site: what and where do you look for in music for your flash?

It just seems that the audio portal has become something other than what it was created for. It seems to be a standalone thing now, which isn't a bad thing.

So do you guys actually go through the audio portal trying to find good music for your movies and games, or do you just look at the frontpage songs?

I'm starting to find that I'm writing longer songs. This makes me happy and also worried; happy because I can expand even more on ideas and whatnot, but worried that if the song is too long, then people aren't going to listen to it. Because the attention span of a listener may not be very large.

So what do you guys think? Short and sweet or long and detailed? And how long is too long?

I'm getting a bit annoyed at people giving straight up zero's to random people and giving themselves fives. It's so damn cheap, and bad for the artists that do good work.

Especially if they have a whole bunch of voting power. D:<

I wish you could at least see who's voted on something. That would solve a lot of problems.

AAAARGH!!!!!

Anyway, there's my little outburst out of the way.

so all you music making mavericks out there (yay alliteration)...

What of this music creation software? What is one to choose in a world of choice?

Basically, I simply MUST know what is better: Reason, or FL?

I have been told that FL is good. quite good. I know many who prefer it over Reason, but having no experience with such software, I don't know. I have Reason at the present moment, which is pretty neat, and better than boring old MIDI on it's own.

Pro's and con's? Comparisons? Suggestions?

Anyhoo, off I go.

WHOOSH!

Guess what? for some of my submissions, people gave me a zero right away.

Now i'm not saying that i'm really good or something, but i think that i would get more than a zero; in fact, i think that EVERYONE who's submitted music should get at least a one (provided that it has some sort of musical structure, and i'd like to think i have that in my songs)

It makes me think someone is conspiring against me... :'(
